Community Connection at Balmoral
Community Connection at Balmoral

Balmoral Village is a community within a community. A private, safe, secluded oasis of landscaped gardens, beautiful villa units and open spaces around a central community centre that is a hive of activity. It’s a village that over 250 residents call home.
Balmoral is proud of the connections it fosters with the local community. Connections that are lasting, valued and strong. One such connection is with the local Vermont South Bowls Club, a club several of our residents are also members of.
In addition to being a Gold Sponsor for VSBC for many years, Balmoral has supported two fantastic events at VSBC in April.
The first, the “Balmoral Cup Challenge”. Now in its third year, the 4-somes tournamentruns for 10 weeks, with two ‘split’ rounds held at the village. There are 20 teams vying for the coveted “Balmoral Cup”, bragging rights and a weekly (and final) cash prize! The event kicked off on 23 April to much fanfare. May the best team win.
The second event was the "Balmoral / KCL" Super 4’s Tournament. Since its inception in 2015 (with only two missed years due to COVID), the tournament has grown in popularity and reputation and this year’s event proved why. Drawing 120 enthusiastic players from across 18 clubs, with four extra teams eagerly waiting on standby, the event was a huge success. Teams travelled from far and wide (despite the cold weather!), including clubs fromRye, Mitcham, Vermont South, Caulfield Park, and Keilor. With 30 teams competing, the atmosphere was buzzing as the day kicked off at 9:15am. Over five games of ten ends, players showcased their skill, strategy and sportsmanship on the green. Everyone was greeted with an egg and bacon roll upon arrival, followed by a delicious sit-down lunch. Cheese and crackers kept players going throughout the day. A crew of 20 club volunteers worked tirelessly to make sure everything ran smoothly. After a full day of play, it was Vermont South who claimed victory with an impressive 81 points. It was a fantastic day of bowls, great food, and strong competition, one which Balmoral was happy to be major sponsor.
Here's to keeping the strong community connections going!
