The 10-week Balmoral Cup has reached its halfway point, with Round 5 now complete and the competition shaping up to be one of the closest in recent years!
Rounds 3 and 4 were played as split rounds across both Balmoral Gardens Village and the Vermont South Bowls Club, with players enjoying excellent conditions and a series of closely contested matches at both venues.
A particular highlight has been the opportunity to play on Balmoral’s own competition-style bowling green. As one of the village’s most valued recreational facilities, the green plays an important role in fostering the strong bowls culture that exists within the community. It provided a wonderful setting for residents to enjoy competitive play while showcasing another of the many lifestyle benefits available at Balmoral.
With the split rounds now complete, all remaining matches will be played at Vermont South Bowls Club as teams continue their quest for a place in the finals.
Recent weekly honors have been shared among several teams, reflecting the competitive nature of this year’s tournament. Team 4, “The DuBeS (Doobies)”, claimed victory in Week 3, Team 2, “Eat Em Alive”, took out Week 4, and Team 5, “The Brewers”, emerged victorious in Week 5.
At the halfway stage, Team 13, “The Firebirds”, sit atop the ladder. However, with five weeks and nine games still remaining, the competition remains wide open and every team will be looking to build momentum as the race towards the finals heats up.
