Balmoral Residents Celebrate Balmoral Cup Victory
Balmoral Gardens Village is proud to congratulate residents Marlene Storer and Lorraine Bennett, who, together with teammate Graeme Durrant, claimed victory in the 2026 Balmoral Cup as members of the winning team, Doobies.
The Balmoral Cup, organised and conducted by the Vermont South Bowls Club, has once again been an outstanding success, with ten weeks of competitive lawn bowls played in a spirit of friendship, sportsmanship and camaraderie. This year's competition included two split rounds played on the greens at Balmoral Gardens Village, allowing residents and visitors alike to enjoy the excellent facilities and welcoming atmosphere of our village.
Players competed each week for a place in the finals, creating plenty of excitement throughout the season. In a closely contested grand final, Team Doobies narrowly defeated The Fire Birds by just a few shots to secure the championship and earn their place on the prestigious Balmoral Cup trophy.
Balmoral Gardens Village was delighted to sponsor the competition and host two rounds of play, supporting an event that brings people together through friendly competition, exercise and social connection. We also extend our congratulations to all participating teams and thank the Vermont South Bowls Club, organisers and volunteers whose efforts made the season such a success.
Well done to Marlene, Lorraine, Graeme and all competitors on another fantastic Balmoral Cup season. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to our greens next year
